Vogue India "Celebrates The Skin Tone The World Covets"

Below Vogue India's April 2010 issue titled the "The Dawn of Dusk" reads "Vogue India Celebrates The Skin Tone The World Covets". Wow, what a bold sub-title! According to Vogue.com, this issue intends to tackle the global misconception that "pale skin equals beauty". The cover is in response to India's use of light-skinned Bollywood stars and models as its cover girls.
According to the article, skin whitening creams from brands like L'Oreal and Unilever grew "18 percent last year"!! See full article here.

What is your take, is this a big enough step or his Vogue India still tip toeing around the issue?

I wish this wasn't true. All colors are beautiful. I hate this colonial white-washed mentality.

I hope they continue to tackle the issue and am to help not only women realize how beautiful they are, but young girls as well.

    Blessings!
